Utinil Solution
Utinill Solution
Norfloxacin 20%W/V Solution
Composition:
Each gram contains:
Norfloxacin
IP................................................200 mg
Description:
Norfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone
antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA
gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV enzymes. These enzymes are
essential for introducing single-strand breaks into bacterial chromosomes and
resealing them during DNA supercoiling. By disrupting this process, norfloxacin
effectively prevents bacterial DNA replication and transcription, leading to
rapid cell death. Utinill Solution is indicated for the treatment of a wide
range of bacterial infections, including:
•Gastrointestinal Tract
Infections:
-Colibacillosis (Escherichia
coli), Salmonellosis (Salmonella spp.), Fowl Typhoid (Salmonella gallinarum).
•Respiratory Tract Infections:
-Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD)
caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Complex Chronic Respiratory Disease (CCRD)
involving secondary bacterial pathogens, Infectious Coryza (IC) (Avibacterium
paragallinarum), Fowl Cholera (FC) (Pasteurella multocida).
•Urinary Tract Infections:
-Bacterial infections affecting
the urinary system.
•Other Infections:
-Additional bacterial infections
responsive to fluoroquinolones.
