Composition
Each bolus contains:
Oxytetracycline HCL
USP..................................................500 mg
Description
Oxytetracycline HCl Bolus is a
bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by
reversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible organisms. This
action prevents the attachment of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome, effectively
halting protein production and bacterial growth.
Oxytetracycline HCl Bolus is
indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections in
livestock, including:
•Cattle and Buffalo:
-Hemorrhagic septicemia (Pasteurella
multocida), Black quarter (Clostridium chauvoei), Anthrax (Bacillus anthracis),
Pneumonia, Brucellosis (Brucella spp.), Genito-urinary tract infections,
Mastitis, Wound infections.
•Sheep and Goat:
-Pneumonia, Enterotoxemia
(Clostridium perfringens).
•General Indications:
-Respiratory tract infections,
Gastrointestinal tract infections, Uterine tract infections.
Oxytetracycline HCl Bolus provides
broad-spectrum efficacy, making it a reliable choice for managing bacterial
infections and promoting animal health and productivity.
Withdrawal time: For meat 7
days
Purpose and Conditions of Use:
It is indicated for the treatment
of a wide range of bacterial infections, including gastrointestinal, respiratory,
and uterine tract infections.
Dosage:
1 bolus per 50 kg body weight for
3-5 days.
Or, as per the recommendation of
the Veterinarian.
Availability:
4 bolus/strip, 12 strips/box.
